Overview
Lovely Sunshine is a short film about Izaak, an eighteen year old Autistic African American young man, his ten year old sister Lena, and their Mama whose world gets turned upside down over mistaken identity. The residents of their apartment building watch in horror as racially motivated cops almost gun down Izaak behind the murder of their next-door neighbor. This film presents the question for black mothers everywhere, if skin color is equal to intent which makes our children in particular our sons guilty; then does having a disability automatically sentence them to a body bag?
